2 sticks of butter
½ cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup cocoa
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
Cream butter and Crisco, add sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, & salt. (I don't sift it!) Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla before the last flour.
Bake in a greased and flour tube pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes 325°.
(I set my oven at 340° and bake it for one and a half hours. It depends on your oven.)
