3 cups flour
4 ½ tsps. baking powder
1 ½ tsps. salt
½ cup crisco
1 cup milk
In bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in Crisco until mixture resembles course corn meal. Add milk, stir until blended. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Knead lightly and place dough to fit into bottom of ungreased 9 inch square pan. Cut through dough into squares. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. When baked, biscuits will separate at cut lines. Makes 16 biscuits.
